What’s Clean
At Health in Hand Juice & Smoothie Bar, approximately 75% of the produce is either certified organic, or local and organically grown. They follow the Clean 15/Dirty Dozen guidelines, therefore anything with a thick skin or rind is not organic. Most of the add-ons are organic. The almond and soy milks used in the smoothies are not made in house.
What’s Served
Health in Hand serves signature and seasonal smoothies, acai and pitaya bowls, of which all are made to order. Five wraps are also on the menu, including Kale + Hummus, Veggie Lovers, Breakfast, and Garden varieties. Over seven different cold-pressed juice varieties were displayed in the grab & go case, as well as the Latte Mocha nut milk. Organic salads and daily specials are also available.
What I Ordered
I selected a house-made Mocha Mylk from the grab & go cooler and my boy ordered a Blue Lagoon Acai Bowl. The nut milk was rich and creamy with a strong coffee taste…excellent flavor and texture. The acai was fresh blended but a bit on the watery side, and super sweet as well. The fruit toppings were fresh and perfectly ripened.
The Vibe
This cute little juice bar sits on a sidestreet in Spartanburg and offers limited seating inside, with a few tables outside as well.
The Takeaway
Health in Hand Juice & Smoothie Bar is one of the very few places in Spartanburg offering clean food and beverages. Health in Hand does a great job of limiting toxin intake by paying attention to details. They serve good quality, delish, and nutritious foods while supporting local farmers and farms as much as possible.
