Food Matters Market offers clean grocery foods in just about every food category. Local sourcing of fresh meats and produce is prevalent. Ninety-nine percent of the produce is organic with so many other organic choices throughout the store such as dairy, shelf-stable foods, wine, beer, and chicken to name a few. The majority of the beef is pasture-raised at local farms with some being 100% grass-fed. Other meats are grass-fed and grain-finished with non-GMO feed. Some of the seafood is wild-caught as well. The wine and beer selection is huge with so many different offerings to choose from. You’ll also find an abundance of clean snacks and healthier choices of household and personal care products. The refrigerated and freezer sections are quite large as well.
The Takeaway
Food Matters Market is without a doubt the premier grocer in the Morganton NC area offering so many clean food options. I was most impressed with the produce which is nearly all organic, and the butcher section where you’ll find excellent clean and local meat choices. The beer and wine section is also quite impressive. There is a cafe/deli that serves sandwiches made to order but it did not meet our minimum requirements. However, the grocery store itself is top-notch for sure. They also have a sister location in Brevard NC.
