At Root & Branch bistro + bar the beef is 100% Grass Fed from a local farm. The pork is pastured and clean and the chicken and eggs are organic. Many ingredients are sourced locally including the produce from small local farms. All of the seafood is line-caught with the majority captured in local waters, including Canaveral Shrimp. Ask for more specifics as the staff and owner/chef are very cooperative in answering all questions regarding ingredients and sourcing. The desserts, pasta varieties, and nearly everything else is made in house except for the catsup, cheese, and some of the bread products.
The menu offers Farm to Table American fare. Lunch consists of Handhelds, Salads, and Small Plates such as Avocado Toast, Pork Belly BLT Sliders, and Beef Tartare. The dinner menu offers much of the same but adds entrees such as Chicken & Gnocchi, Beef Brisket, Steak Frites, and Shrimp & Grits. A kids’ menu is available and brunch is offered on the weekends from 11 am – 2:30 pm.
What I Ordered
I ordered the burger and opted for the Farmer’s Salad as a side instead of the Fries. The burger was outstanding and made with two 100% Grass-Fed Beef Patties. Toasted to perfection, the bun along with the toppings of shredded lettuce, onion, cheese, and house pickles created a mouthful of yumminess with each bite. The salad was fresh and topped with a very light yet flavorful house-made dressing. Both the burger and salad were a step above.
Root & Branch boasts modern finishes with local art adorning the walls. Although the new space has white-clothed tables, cement floors, and neutral colors, they somehow create a casual and relaxed feel.
With a lovely atmosphere, clean proteins, scratch-made yummy food, and an emphasis on local sourcing, Root & Branch bistro + bar is a welcomed addition to the Clermont area. Oh, and the friendly staff is superior.
