What’s Clean
At Ohana Cafe, the majority of their ingredients are organic including the eggs, produce, quinoa and some of their breads. The buffalo meat is grass fed and most of the fish choices are wild caught, ask for more specifics. They offer many plant based, gluten free and vegetarian options.
What’s Served
Ohana Cafe serves Hawaiian influenced food with a healthy twist. Their menu is extensive and includes breakfast all day, salads, burgers, sandwiches and wraps, grain and poke bowls, entrees, burritos, and tacos. Beverage choices consist of organic cold pressed juices, smoothies, coffee, tea, shots, and kombucha.
What I Ordered
We ordered the Hawaii 5-0 Buffalo Burger, Gluten Free Pancakes and Loco Moco Vegetarian Style. The Buffalo Burger tasted as good as it looks, and yes it was huge. The burger arrived with a side of house made slaw and potato salad, the entire meal was delish. My 8 yr old nephew ordered the pancakes, and to preface the situation, he is the pickiest eater I know. Well, he devoured the Gluten Free Pancakes. To this day, he raves about them and claims they are the best pancakes he’s ever had. The pancakes are pretty thick, but delish. The Loco Moco missed the mark a bit for me. It was lacking in flavor and was just…meh.
The Vibe
Situated in a former Pizza Hut location, the decor at Ohana Cafe is Hawaiian inspired and relaxed.
The Takeaway
Ohana Cafe is a family owned restaurant serving many clean food options with a Hawaiin twist. I’m looking forward to returning for another review. On occasion, they host hula dancing nights, check social media for more info. Ohana Cafe has a sister location in Palm Harbor that is predominantly a juice and smoothie bar, serving mostly organic, house made and delish creations.
