What’s Clean
Nearly all of the produce is organic at the Juice Box Cafe. On the day of our review, the only non-organic items were the peanut butter, eggs, and a few cheese choices. Paleo and Gluten-Free options are available while plant-based and vegetarian cuisine make up most of the menu.
What’s Served
The menu at the YMCA location offers smoothies, cold-pressed juice, wellness shots, and a few small bites.
What I Ordered
During a visit to their original location, I ordered the purple haze smoothie when made with blueberries, banana, lavender, agave, and vanilla. The smoothie was vibrant in color and flavor with a nice consistency. It quickly became evident that the Juice Box takes clean food seriously, not only was this smoothie all organic, it was high-quality goodness for the tastebuds. In fact, so delish that I forgot to take a photo!
The Vibe
This location for the Juice Box is situated inside the Family YMCA. Place your order at the walk-up window in between workouts. No worries if you are not a YMCA member, membership is not required to eat at the Juice Box.
The Takeaway
What a great find! Both locations of the Juice Box serve the cleanest food in town. In 2012, US News named the Lakeland area as one of the Top 10 most obese cities in the US. So thankful to the owner of Juice Box for bringing us clean options, bravo! Sustainable practices are also important to Juice Box, more kudos! Visit their sister location at 4295 Florida Ave S, also in Lakeland.
