Grown is a USDA Certified Organic restaurant. That translates to mean just about everything is organic, right down to the salt & pepper. At the time of my review, the only non-organic food item or ingredient at this location was the pancake mix.
The menu includes salads, sandwiches, wraps, amazing sides, soup, juice, and smoothies. They also serve breakfast from 9am – 11am, and have a separate kids menu.
What I Ordered
I ordered the Mediterranean Salad with sides of Mexican Corn and Green Beans. I’m so happy to say that all were fantastic. The green beans made with onions and almonds were my top choice; the tasty green beans were cooked to a slight crispness. The corn was creamy and tender. My favorite parts of the colorful Mediterranean Salad were the flavorful Roasted Peppers, the HouseMade Hummus, and the Marinated Red Onions.
Grown sports a rustic decor with a down-home and grounded feel. Lots of covered outdoor seating is provided as well.
They were the first USDA Certified Organic restaurant in Florida and the first in America with a drive-thru! Grown offers a comfort food homestyle kind of feel and menu. They have 2 other locations in FL that are not certified organic, but their location in Middletown Connecticut is. Kudos to Grown for doing it right!
