What’s Clean

Bird of Paradise serves pastured pork fed non-GMO grain, chicken that is fed organic feed made with rice, and wild-caught seafood. Aside from the proteins, just about every other ingredient is certified organic or organically grown. The meats and seafood are local as well as most of the produce, depending on the season. Everything is scratch-made and the entire menu is gluten-free and dairy-free. Additionally, several vegan, vegetarian, keto and paleo options are available. Also, Bird of Paradise focuses on low sugar recipes void of honey and refined sugars.

What’s Served

Enjoy tropical themed menu offerings for breakfast and lunch with plenty of fresh seafood and vegan options. You’ll also find organic smoothies, iced tea, kombucha, and coffee.  Join them every morning of the week for a clean and healthy breakfast from 9am – 3pm, and lunch from 11am – 3pm.

What I Ordered

I’ve had the pleasure of eating many clean meals created by owner Emily Rankin over the years. For this review, I ordered the lively and delish Island Jerk Bowl with roasted pork as the protein choice. The tropical bowl of tender pork with fresh and crisp veggies over Jupiter brown rice was devoured in minutes. With a hint of coconut flavor, the fluffy rice absorbed the mildly spiced Caribbean sauce that was good enough to slurp…so I did. Pineapple salsa draped the shredded purple cabbage, carrots, and kale making this bowl a slam dunk in taste and quality. The plantain chips are some of the best I’ve had.

The Vibe

Bird of Paradise is a fast-casual cafe located inside the hip and always popping East End Market food hall. Bar seating surrounds the service area with a few tables available as well. Ample outdoor seating is provided outside the market in 2 separate areas.

The Takeaway

Bird of Paradise serves the cleanest sit-down meals in town. They are open for breakfast & lunch daily. Bring a friend, order a lovely meal, and relax on the porch!
