What’s Clean
At Orlando Brewing, all but 1 of the 35 beers on tap are made in house and all of the beers made in house are certified organic. They also serve several organic wines. Orlando Brewing follows the German Purity Law Standards which dictates that beers should only be brewed with 4 ingredients: water, hops, yeast, and barley. Their beer is void of anything beyond those 3 organic ingredients and water. Every beer served on tap is also unpasteurized.
What’s Served
In addition to the wall of beers on tap, Orlando Brewing also serves many different organic wines and a few ciders. They allow, and even encourage you to bring your own food, so awesome! Food Trucks are invited to the property several times a month. However, the food served from the food trucks does not qualify as clean or organic.
What I Ordered
I sampled several Orlando Brewing house made beers in the tap tasting room. They are quick to offer samples to everyone. Rest assured, the beer here is fresh, crisp and alive!
The Vibe
The atmosphere at Orlando brewing is always friendly. The staff is super knowledgeable and loves to educate you on everything beer, so ask away. The Taproom is located in a separate section at the front of the warehouse. It is a fun space with art from local artists on one of the walls. There is a giant American flag covering a corner wall pretty much from floor to ceiling. A large outdoor tent area resides in front of the building where pets are allowed and many picnic tables, benches and a fire pit are available. In addition to occasional food trucks, they also host live music most Friday and Saturday nights.
The Takeaway
Orlando Brewing earned their Certified Organic label in 2006. They are the only Organic Brewery in Florida and until recently, was the only USDA Certified Organic Brewery east of Colorado. I’m so proud to have them here in my hometown. Free brewery tours are offered Monday – Saturday at 6pm, on a first come first serve basis. It’s a great spot to chill and chug some fresh and delish beer. Oh, and don’t forget to take the tour!
