What’s Clean
All ingredients at Purple Ocean are vegan, raw and organic except for the Honey and Nutella.
What’s Served
Acai and Pitaya Bowls are the main attractions at Purple Ocean, however, they also serve Açaí on Buckwheat Waffles, a few smoothies and grab & go drinks. On occasion, Sofrito Hummus can be found on the menu as well. Gluten-free options are available.
What I Ordered
The Survivor Acai Bowl was off the charts in the yummy department! I substituted the gluten-free option of almond slices for the granola. The fruit surrounding the acai was perfectly ripe, sweet and plentiful. Purple Ocean never disappoints; their Acai Bowls are not only beautiful but delish! The only thing I wish they did differently is to blend the acai to order instead of scooping from a ready-made batch.
The Vibe
The Purple Ocean Food Truck at Florida Mall sits outside Footlocker, look for the shiny silver Airstream. What an inviting, modern and just plain cool set-up they have, wow! They constructed a large seating area with comfortable outdoor furniture, overhead string lights and shade cover, which makes for a charming spot to chill and indulge.
The Takeaway
Purple Ocean has created the perfect atmosphere to enjoy one of the cleanest and best tasting bowls in town. Keep in mind, this Purple Ocean location follows the Mall hours. Their other Food Truck location is on Orange Ave., near Lake Ivanhoe, and in Waterford Lakes. You’ll also find them at the Winter Park Farmers’ Market on Saturday mornings and at UCF on Monday afternoons. Check them out on social media for updates regarding remote locations, typically on the weekends.
