Most ingredients at Peace in the garden cafe are organic or organically grown with the exception of some cheeses, a few bread choices, several condiments, and a few other ingredients. Just about everything on the menu is house-made including the salsa, hummus, and soups. They also offer vegan and gluten-free options.
The breakfast menu includes eggless bowls in the form of yogurt, acai, fruit or oatmeal. Breakfast burritos, rancheros, organic smoothies, shots, teas, and standard breakfast fare round out the morning menu. Lunch entails sandwiches, salads, amazing looking bowls like the Fajita Bowl, wraps, soups and starters.
What I Ordered
We started with salsa, hummus and 2 different soup choices. The salsa was very fresh and delish, as were both of the soups which were hearty and bursting with flavor. Next, we indulged in the Veggie Chicken Sandwich…wow! The bread was toasted to perfection and the ingredients packed a punch on this rather large sandwich with wonderful flavors. The next morning we stopped by to sample breakfast and ordered the Huevos Rancheros and the Vegan Scramble. Again we were not disappointed, the scramble was seasoned with just the right amount of spice and the tofu was nice and tender. The Rancheros dish arrived with a bit too much red sauce for my liking but otherwise, the quality and flavor passed the test and we enjoyed the side of potatoes as well.
Peace in the Garden cafe feels like an upscale diner with a wide-open dining area playing host to ample tables and a small bar area.
Peace in the Garden Cafe is only open for breakfast and lunch 6 days a week. A hidden gem in Rockledge, the food is hearty, scratch-made, mostly clean and yummy…all under one roof!
