Soul Vegetarian Restaurant is 100% vegan. A good number of ingredients are organically grown or certified organic, ask for more specifics. The majority of the ingredients used in the juices and smoothies are organic. You’ll also find many gluten-free options on the menu. Soul Vegetarian does not use ingredients with additives or preservatives, MSG, peanuts, artificial colors or dyes, and they do not use soy sauce.
There are two separate menus at Soul Vegetarian. The juice bar to the left serves juice, desserts, house-made vegan ice cream, smoothies, shakes, wraps, and pizza. The station on the right side of the building serves entrees and sides.
What I Ordered
We ordered the Black Bean Burger on a gluten-free wrap and a side of Collard Greens and Sweet Potatoes. The wrap was not bad, a tad on the dry side, however, I bit down on something hard…more than once??? Not quite sure what that was but otherwise the wrap had a good taste and combo of toppings. The collards and sweet potatoes were very bland and one bite was enough for me. Unfortunately, the juice bar was already closed upon our arrival.
Soul Vegetarian is a modest restaurant in every sense of the word. Nothing fancy and only the bare essentials are what you’ll find here.
I was not impressed with the food or the ambiance, however, they do offer several clean menu choices. And after all, Soul Veg is in a college town and the prices are quite reasonable. Brunch is served on the weekends.
