What’s Clean
Heirloom Cafe serves 100% grass-fed, and chicken that is pastured and supplemented with organic feed. The seafood is fresh and wild-caught and the only food on the menu that is not local. Almost everything is house-made, except for the desserts and bread. Most of the produce is locally sourced, with much of it being organically grown. The bread is not organic.
What’s Served
The lunch menu consists of soups, salads, small plates, burgers, and omelets. For dinner, the menu offers cheese plates, small plates, salads, and entrees such as Roasted Pork Loin, Braised Oxtail, and a Grass-Fed Burger. The weekend brunch menu is extensive with a mixture of lunch items and breakfast plates. The full liquor bar boasts an impressive wine list.
What I Ordered
I ordered the Pearson Farms Peach Salad which was quite refreshing. The greens were fresh and crisp while the peach slices were tender and sweet. The dressing brought all of the ingredients together creating a sublime symphony of nutrition. On a subsequent visit, I ordered the Grass-fed Burger. A tasty burger it was, with house-made mustard, and toppings of shredded lettuce, melted Tillamook cheese, chili mayo, and grilled onions, the burger was 2 fistfuls of juicy yum.
The Vibe
Situated in what appears to be an old filling station, Heirloom Cafe has a fun atmosphere with a huge outdoor seating area that is under roof. A full liquor bar sits at the center of the restaurant with tables for dining in the outer areas.
The Takeaway
Heirloom Cafe is a busy local spot serving some crazy good local food. This is one of the most authentic Farm to Table Restaurants I’ve come across in the state of Georgia.
