What’s Clean
At Harvest Seasonal Grill & Wine Bar, some of the menu choices are made in-house such as the mixes for the mocktails & cocktails, salad dressings, & sauces. Local sourcing of produce is a priority of which some is organically grown or organic, but the majority is not. The burger beef is 100% Grass-fed and most of the fish & seafood is wild-caught. As always, ask for more specifics. The steak, meats, and chicken are NOT grass-fed or organic, nor are the bread and pasta which are also not made in-house. The tofu and rice are typically organic and they do offer vegetarian, plant-based, low calorie, and gluten-free options. There are also lots of choices that hover in the 500 calorie zone.
What’s Served
The menu changes based on the season, but in general, Harvest Seasonal Grill & Wine Bar offers starters such as Plant-Based Chile, Korean BBQ Lettuce Wraps, and Roasted Beet Toast. Several different Flatbreads, Sides, and Salads, as well as Sandwiches and a nice selection of Bowls with bases of Organic Jasmine Rice, Red Quinoa, Risotto, Sweet Potato, or Soba Noodles. Entrees are divided into 3 categories: Fish & Seafood, Meats & Poultry, and Plant-Based & Vegetarian.
What I Ordered
Although I did dine at several locations throughout PA, the food part of this review is based on my menu selections at the Glen Mills location in PA. I ordered the Organic Pork Potstickers, a small size Modern Greek Salad, and a Cucumber Ginger Mule. The house-made Cucumber/Ginger Mule was quite refreshing and certainly enjoyable. The potstickers had a slight crispiness to the shell but overall were nothing special, however, the dipping sauce was a winner with just a hint of heat. The salad was again, nothing special even with the super fresh Bibb lettuce and house Balsamic dressing that was lively and flavorful.
The Vibe
One thing is for sure, each Harvest Seasonal Grill & Wine Bar is gorgeous with indoor and outdoor dining as well as bar seating. Modern and urban decor mixed with greenery and earthy tones makes for beautiful surroundings here. Every encounter with the staff has been pleasant and reservations are recommended, especially for dinner.
The Takeaway
Harvest Seasonal Grill & Wine Bar is certainly a lovely place to share a meal, but after visiting several locations, the food just didn’t wow me. Given the nice venue and higher prices, I expected more. There are enough clean choices scattered throughout the menu to enjoy a clean and even low-calorie lunch or dinner, and the surroundings are superb.
