What’s Clean
At Sneaky Pickle approximately 80% of all ingredients used are organic. Most of the produce is local and organically grown, which varies based on availability and season. The majority of the menu is vegan or vegetarian.
What’s Served
The menu at Sneaky Pickle changes often but typically consists of salads, flatbreads, bowls, sandwiches, plates, and sides. They also offer unique and interesting daily specials.
What I Ordered
We ordered the Bowl of Food which was basically a Thai influenced soup made with chickpeas, coconut milk, onion, potato, cauliflower, acorn squash, rice, taro chips, and cilantro. Holy wow…speechless! At first glance, the bowl looked like everything but the kitchen sink had been tossed in. Once I indulged and took a spoonful of the wonderful symphony of ingredients, it became clear that this dish was over the top in taste and quality. This was a soup-like nothing I’ve experienced, absolutely A-M-A-Z-I-N-G.
The Vibe
The Sneaky Pickle does not offer much in the curb appeal department, but don’t let that stop you. It’s a funky little stop in the 9th Ward with a hipster vibe and modest accommodations. They do, however, have a charming outdoor seating area, complete with picnic tables and overhead string lights.
The Takeaway
Just wow, what a super pleasant surprise. Not only does the Sneaky Pickle use mostly clean ingredients, but the uniqueness and taste of their dishes is over the top. The chefs at Sneaky Pickle utilize what’s in season and create masterpieces using uncommon combinations of ingredients. There’s nothing boring here, food or otherwise. Their prices are quite reasonable as well.
