At the Shark on the Water Restaurant, local sourcing is a priority. The seafood is fresh, local, and wild-caught and the chicken is organic. The beef is 100% grass-fed and raised without any of the bad stuff. The produce and milk are from local farms that follow organic growing practices. Just about everything is made from scratch while Gluten-free and vegan options are provided. The bread is local but not made with organic ingredients.
The menu changes daily at Shark on the Harbor Restaurant, depending on the freshest catch and ingredient availability. Regardless of the season, you’ll always find small plates, sandwiches, wraps, burgers, salads, soup, and of course, amazing seafood. Pizzas, bowls, and a whole lot of freshly made desserts round out the menu choices. Cocktails and after dinner liqueurs, as well as an extensive list of local and regional craft beers, vino, and wine flights are offered. A kids menu is also provided.
What I Ordered
I ordered the almost too beautiful to eat, Berry Salad…wow, what a great choice! Dressed with a mouth-watering truffle & black garlic vinaigrette, the house-seasoned blackened organic chicken was surrounded with super fresh local blackberries, blueberries, and strawberries. But wait, I’m not done yet, pickled beets, peeled peaches, microgreens, and dollops of triple cream brie made for a clean foodie award-winning salad for the record books. There’s not a thing I would change about this salad, from the tender chicken to the perfect ripeness of the fresh fruits, simply amazing!
Shark on the Harbor Restaurant is located, you guessed it, on the harbor. A beautiful one at that, with views of Assateague Island in a marina-type setting. Sink your toes in the beach sand at tables along the canal or take a seat upstairs in the main dining room. There are also a few tables upstairs on the outer deck or grab a stool at the large bar at center stage. No matter where you choose to dine, you’re guaranteed a view of the water.
The Shark in the Harbor Restaurant is one of the best clean eating finds in MD. Local is king here, while scratch-made delicious new American fare, made with clean fresh ingredients is queen. It’s on my personal must-eat-here list for Maryland. Don’t miss this special place along the waterfront in Ocean City.
