Life Alive serves vegetarian fare with vegan, raw, and gluten-free options aplenty. Just about everything on the menu is made with all organic ingredients, and if not, then the non-organic ingredient will be noted or stated. Local sourcing is a priority and much of the menu is made in house including the juices, nut milks, soups, and sauces. The breads are not made in house.
What’s Served
Breakfast at Life Alive consists of wraps, bowls, and smoothie bowls with juices, coffee, and latte drinks. The post-breakfast menu brings grain bowls, wraps, salads, soups, broths, and a few small plates. You’ll also find smoothies, smoothie bowls, juices, as well as specialty tea and coffee drinks.
What I Ordered
My boy ordered the Udon Miso Masterful soup with gluten-free rice noodles, oh my! Infused with Braggs, toasted sesame and flax oils, and veggies including kale, carrots, shitake mushrooms, and seaweed…absolutely sinful. He devoured this soup, along with the made to order Ecstatic Smoothie which was alive with fruity sweetness. He’s 12 BTW. I ordered one of the two house-made soups of the day, Black Bean over white rice, topped with fresh avocado slices. Again, just wow! The tender beans were smothered in a savory broth atop perfectly cooked rice, then topped with refreshing avocado slices; outstanding in every category. Lest I forget the amazing Coco Loco Alive smoothie, made with a dandelion blend, raw cacao, coconut oil, coconut-based ice cream, rice milk, and a dash of maple syrup. Nothing but positive feedback here, all around.
The Vibe
The ambiance and lighting at the Brookline Life Alive Organic Cafe is nothing short of spectacular. The newly decorated space speaks comfy cozy with tons of character. High top and standard tables, with choices of upholstered benches, ottomans, and barstools for seating.
The Takeaway
What a pleasant surprise found in Eastern MA. Considering the clean ingredients, the food and beverages served at Life Alive are very reasonably priced. With five locations in MA, Life Alive is a safe bet for enjoying nutritious and delish meals and drinks, all the while tremendously limiting toxin intake ever-present in non-organic/organically grown foods.
