What’s Clean
At Crossroads Cafe, just about everything is organic and scratch-made. Even the water it serves and cooks with is filtered. The only ingredients that were not organic during our visit were the ice cream, almond butter, coconut water, and sprouts. The salmon is not wild-caught but sustainably farmed. Gluten-Free, Vegan, and Vegetarian options are plentiful.
What’s Served
Sandwiches, salads, and a daily special. An extensive list of smoothies is offered, as well as milkshakes made with their very own scratch-made ice cream. In the Grab & Go case you’ll find fresh cold-pressed juice varieties, scratch-made organic soup, wellness shots, kombucha, and sodas sweetened with stevia.
What I Ordered
I arrived for breakfast and ordered an organic GF pancake, organic scrambled eggs, and organic red potato home fries, all off of the a la carte menu. Let’s start with the pancake. First off, this perfectly browned almond flour pancake was outstanding! So similar in taste and texture to a traditional pancake, I would never have guessed it was GF. The scrambled eggs were fluffy while the sauteed potatoes were diced into delightfully small pieces, tender and tasty they were. I also ordered the Earth Smoothie which contained 70 ingredients, yes 70! Soooo much nutrition in one cup including blueberry, turmeric, ginger, kale, spinach, strawberry, green apple, watermelon, and coconut hemp milk to name a few. Surprisingly, this complex and velvety smoothie was absolutely yummy.
The Vibe
Crossroads Cafe is located in a smaller sized strip mall with a Health Food store next door. The atmosphere is similar to a neighborhood cafe with simple furnishings and heavy in wooden accents. Table seating is available inside with a few small tables set up outdoors along the front sidewalk. The owner is friendly and completely transparent about the quality and sourcing of ingredients.
