What’s Clean
At Blue Moon Evolution, clean ingredients include 100% grass-fed beef and organic or local organically grown produce. The seafood is wild-caught and local. The coffee is organic and several wines are biodynamic or organic as well. Much of the menu is scratch-made including syrups and juices for the cocktails. Blue Moon even dehydrates their own fruit used for drink decorations.
What’s Served
The lunch and dinner menus change daily based on ingredient availability. In general, fusion style small plates, salads, sides, and main entrees are offered. Entrees offered on the night of my visit included Steamed Pei Mussels, Clyde Farm Marrakesch Chicken, and Dunk’s Local Mushroom Risotto.
What I Ordered
I ordered the Vegan and Gluten-Free Blue Moon General Tso’s Cauliflower and a spirit free mocktail, the Ginger Lime Rickey. The Tempura Fried Cauliflower was excellent! Tossed in a light batter and served on a bed of coconut jasmine rice, the tender and moist cauliflower was not smothered in sauces allowing for the natural flavors and spices to shine. Think light Asian inspired fare made with clean ingredients, prepped and cooked in healthy ways. I can’t say enough about the scratch-made Ginger Lime Rickey; fresh ingredients squeezed before my eyes created a refreshing bubbly drink that popped with ginger and lime flavors, delish!
The Vibe
Blue Moon Evolution occupies a casual space with a U-shaped wooden bar tucked in the far corner where you’ll find a few dimly lit tables. The main dining area is open with various table arrangements and soft music playing in the background. The staff is attentive and very knowledgable about the ingredients and kitchen happenings.
The Takeaway
Happily serving local, organic, and seasonal fare for almost 25 years, Blue Moon Evolution is a clean eater’s haven. Local sourcing is a high priority as is serving authentic real food that tickles our tastebuds.
