What’s Clean
Owowcow sources as much as it can locally, including organic cream, milk, fruits, veggies, and raw honey. The cane sugar is non-GMO but not organic, however, honey is used for sweetener in the majority of the menu and ice creams. Owowcow makes all of the ice cream flavors and everything else from scratch and by hand. This includes pasteurizing the dairy base, roasting local fruits, and hand-dipping popsicles. Vegan and dairy-free options are available.
What’s Served
Twenty-four different ice cream flavors are available each day at every location. That includes twelve core flavors and twelve seasonal or specialty flavors based on what’s ripe and harvested at the moment. Served in a cup or in one of several cone choices, as a split, sundae, shake, float, and even an ice cream flight. Dairy-free sorbet, ice cream sandwiches, cookies, and popsicles round out the menu.
What I Ordered
I ordered a Hot Fudge Sundae with Caramel Cashew and Mint Chocolate Chip ice creams. And yes, I opted for the whipped cream topping, sprinkled with slivered almonds. Not going to lie, I love me some ice cream and this was some CRAZY GOOD ice cream. So creamy and rich, each bite induced eye rolls and moans…simply amazing. The quality of ingredients and hand made scrutiny was so apparent, over the top in every category.
The Vibe
Well, expect a line out the door, but I assure you the wait is well worth it. Bar seating and several tables are available inside but chances are a seat will be hard to come by.
The Takeaway
Owowcow makes clean, mostly organic, hand and scratch-made artisan ice cream that is an easy 5 on the yummy scale, it just doesn’t get any better than that. Owowcow is also eco-minded and does not use plastic. Indulge without the guilt, what a gift you are Owowocow to us clean eating ice cream lovers. Thank you for what you do!
