Just about everything served at Greentruth Plant-Based Kitchen is organic while local sourcing is a priority. The food is Plant-Based, except for a few egg dishes offered for breakfast, and Scratch-Made as well. Gluten-Free options are plentiful.
What’s Served
The menu at Greentruth Plant-Based Kitchen offers raw cold-pressed juice, grain bowls, smoothie and acai bowls, traditional smoothies, signature coffees, salads, soups, sandwiches, toasts, and wraps. Juice cleanses are also offered when pre-ordered.
What I Ordered
During my first visit, I ordered the daily special called Green Eggs and Ham (Coconut Bacon) with a Caramel Maca Frappe. The basil and pesto infused scrambled eggs were certainly green and arrived topped with bacon crumbles, sprouts, and perfectly ripened slices of avocado. Nicely browned Gluten-Free toast with a gorgeous tossed green salad filled the plate. The dressing tossed with the fresh greens was a standout as were the Basil touched eggs which were a welcomed new experience, quite delish. The “Ham” was a bit on the salty side, and the Frappe made with nut milk was refreshing with a nice flavor. On my next visit, I ordered the Detoxify Salad with a Lean & Green Smoothie. The smoothie was refreshing with a thinner consistency than most while the huge salad was too big to finish. The complex salad made of kale and chopped cabbage was filled with crunch. I enjoyed the velvety cashew creme and toppings of avocado slices, raisins, seeds, and tiny cubes of apple, but the lemon flavor in the house dressing was a bit too strong for my liking.
The Vibe
Located in an old turn of the century row house, nothing says welcome like stepping into a former home turned restaurant. Charm galore with upholstered bench seating and Barnwood topped tables, the 2 room space is intimate and comfortable. A few cutesy outdoor tables are provided along the front sidewalk.
The Takeaway
Not only does Greentruth Plant-Based Kitchen provide fantastic clean food and beverages, but they also support local every chance they get. In addition, Greenmouth is eco-friendly while practicing sustainable methods such as composting. I can’t say enough good things about Greenmouth Table, love the charming setting too.
