What’s Clean
The pizza dough and tomato sauce are made in-house daily with organic flours and ingredients. The mixed greens are also always organic. Much of the ingredients are organically grown and sourced locally. Organic ingredients are notated on the menu and they do offer vegan and gluten-free options.
What’s Offered
In addition to some pretty darn good pizza, Little E’s Pizzeria serves a handful of appetizers and salads, a stromboli, a calzone, and hoagies. Pizza varieties include classic, white, vegan, and gluten-free. They also house a full bar that serves wine, craft beer, gluten-free beer, and specialty drinks.
What I Ordered
On my first visit, I ordered a classic style pizza with pepperoni and mushrooms, sans the tomato sauce. I appreciated the use of fresh local mushrooms, so delish and certainly no skimping on toppings. Yes, it was good enough for this lil’ piggy to eat in one sitting, but I refrained and proceeded to return a few days later for another. This time I chose the Bianca Pizza with Artichokes, Mushrooms, and Spinach. The toppings were super fresh and the crust was pretty wonderful, all in all, a piping hot dynamite pizza.
The Vibe
I did visit during Covid but was able to get a brief look at the dining area which has a bar and table seating. The dining room is on the smaller side, however, the parking lot doubles as a nice patio with many tables amongst the flower pots.
The Takeaway
Although not totally clean, Little E’s Pizzeria offers pizza that is cleaner than most of the pizza offered in the US. If I had to guess, I’d say cleaner than 95% of what’s out there. Organic house-made dough and sauce, with fresh local and clean topping options and excellent tasting pizza, is what you don’t want to miss at Little E’s Pizzeria in Greensburg PA. They are only open for dinner and are closed Sundays and Mondays.
