What’s Clean
At Pocono Organics, the majority of ingredients are clean and local. The chicken is organic and the beef is 100% grass-fed. The produce is organic and either grown on their own farm or on another local farm when in season. The dairy milk and yogurt is from naturally raised cows that are pastured, grass-fed, and unhomogenized. Most menu items are made in house with organic ingredients including the sauces, dressings, granola, pickles, and even the potato chips. Vegan and vegetarian options are available.
What’s Offered
Breakfast is served from 8am – 11am and the menu includes egg sandwiches, oats cooked in bone broth, grits and eggs, hash, and sides. Smoothies are served all day and baked goods are available until sold out. The lunch menu offers 4 different salads including antipasto and grilled chicken caesar. A choice of 3 sandwiches includes a grass-fed cheeseburger, a grilled chicken sandwich, and a smoked mushroom sandwich. Several veggie sides and a hummus bowl round out the lunch menu. A kid’s menu is available as well.
What I Ordered
I ordered the Classic Cheeseburger and a Peanut Butter Power Smoothie. The smoothie was creamy and delicious, topped with cacao nibs, the texture and taste were similar to a chocolate shake. The burger can best be described as a fistful of flavor, actually, make that two fistfuls. Although fresh toppings were piled high, the beef was tasty enough to eat by itself. The grilled bun had a golden brown bottom with a soft and yummy crown. Loved the English cucumber house-made sliced pickles that were also packed with flavor. A medley of super fresh greens and sliced English cucumbers tossed in a light and refreshing house dressing made for a delightful side salad. On a return visit, we sampled the large and pretty thick Buttermilk Pancakes with house berry sauce and whipped cream, yep, those were yummy! The Crispy Zucchini Chips were a hit as well, albeit a little on the salty side.
The Vibe
The cafe shares its space with the Pocono Organics Market in a brand new custom-built building, across from the Pocono Raceway. The large open space houses a combo of shabby chic decor and farmhouse themed furniture, with table seating available indoors and out.
The Takeaway
The Cafe is located on one of the Pocono Organics farm properties, which is a family-run, USDA certified organic farm practicing regenerative farming. It is evident that the kitchen goes to great lengths to source and grow clean ingredients. Pocono Organics Cafe serves fresh, clean, real, and delicious food until 2 pm Thursday – Monday. This is a must-stop-here-now kinda place! The market is open 7 days a week from 8 am – 5 pm.
