EVERYTHING! At Raw Nucleus Foods, all of the produce and other ingredients are certified organic. In addition, everything is made in-house, and yes, that includes the breads, wraps, sauces, and condiments. The entire menu is gluten-free and soy-free while nut-free options can be ordered for most of the foods.
What’s Offered
Nucleus Raw Foods offers over 25 different smoothie choices with Savory, Chocolate, Green, and Fruity varieties to choose from. Sandwiches, Small Bites, and Cold-Pressed Organic Juices are also offered.
What I Ordered
I ordered the Bacon Avocado and Tomato Sandwich on house-made living bread with a Blueberry Cheesecake Smoothie from the Luzerne location. For starters, the house-made living bread is, for sure, the best tasting raw bread that I have tasted. Made with Buckwheat Grouts, Flaxseed, Olive Oil, H2O, and Salt, the tasty bread was moist with a dense consistency. The house Eggplant Bacon flavored with fruit spices was outstanding, topped with fresh slices of Avo, lively sprouts, and a big dollop of gooey creamy house cashew sauce was simply divine. Interestingly enough, the Blueberry Smoothie did not contain blueberries, but you’d never know it. Banana, cherry, lemon, and cashews somehow created a delicious and creamy purple-colored smoothie. I also grabbed some ready-made Cookie Dough Nut Balls that were made with a cashew base. The snacky balls were sweet and a bit on the dry side, but good enough to order again.
The Vibe
I visited during Covid restrictions and unfortunately, the Wilkes-Barre was not operating during this time. Both locations operate with the same owners, ingredients, food, menu, and recipes. The Luzerne location is quite a charmer, the Wilkes-Barre location is on the list for the next pass through PA.
The Takeaway
Nucleus Raw Foods is a step above the rest. It doesn’t get much cleaner than this; all organic, raw, pure unadulterated nourishing food. They are also eco-minded using packaging that is biodegradable made from corn fiber. Please stop by Nucleus Raw Foods and support local peeps doing an amazing job in providing us with pure clean food; delicious raw vegan eats that are as clean as it gets.
