What’s Clean

Local sourcing is a high priority at Miel. Most of the produce is locally sourced and either organically grown or certified organic. The seafood is wild-caught, and the duck is organic. The beef is grass-fed and finished with non-GMO grains. Just about everything is made in-house including the sourdough bread. GMO’s of any kind are NOT allowed in their kitchen. Several of the wine offerings are Biodynamic or Organic.

What’s Served

The menu speaks seasonally inspired, chef-driven American cuisine with a lovely French twist. Although the menu changes daily, typical entrees include duck, beef, pork, seafood, and incredible vegetable creations. Shareable plates such as charcuterie boards, as well as an assortment of dipping sauces for the house-baked bread, are also offered. You’ll find an exceptional wine list as well as a full liquor bar, including beer and cider.

What I Ordered

I ordered the Roasted Cabbage and the Peach & Bacon Cornbread, oh my! The cabbage wedge arrived topped with wildflowers from Miel’s very own landscape garden. The tender and warm cabbage leaves were braised with truffle and sunflower butters and a mixture of seasoning and spices. Bursting with flavor in every bite, never have I enjoyed a cabbage dish as much as this. The cornbread, with a perfectly browned crown, was also moan-worthy. Infused with smoked ricotta, cultured butter, local peaches, local bacon, and chives, the cornbread was super moist with savory pieces of bacon and a lovely sweet peach flavor.

The Vibe

Patio seating is the preferred choice at Miel, weather permitting. Intimate outdoor lighting, fire pits, trees, and natural landscape (some of which is edible) makes you feel like you’re in a friend’s backyard. Miel’s interior seating is simple in a smaller sized space with a partial kitchen view.

The Takeaway

Miel’s owner is extremely passionate about sustainability, eating clean, and supporting local farmers and growers. Love the edible landscaping around the restaurant which includes, fig and plum trees, as well as assorted spices. The food is clean, fresh and a step above, in both quality and taste. Thank you Miel for your commitment to eating and supporting sustainability and pure, clean food.
