What’s Clean
The chicken, pork, rice, beans, eggs, and corn tortillas are organic as well as most of the produce. The hanger steak and ground beef are 100% grass fed, but the sirloin is not. The drum fish is wild caught, however, the salmon and shrimp are not.
What’s Served
Tacodeli serves breakfast tacos, lunch tacos, daily lunch specials, chips and dips, sides, salads, and soups. They also have a small kids menu. The lunch taco menu is split into 5 categories: chicken, beef, pork, seafood, and vegetarian. Unfortunately, Tacodeli is only open for breakfast and lunch, closing at 3pm daily. Oh, and one more thing, every Tacodeli location is a BYOB facility. Bring your own beer, wine and/or liquor and enjoy!
What I Ordered
We ordered 4 different tacos all on corn tortillas: Pollo En Mole, El Conquistador, Al Pastor, and Freakin Vegan. My fave was the El Conquistador, the pork was a bit crunchy which meshed perfectly with the large cuts of avocado, so good. My assistant’s favorite taco was the Al Pastor. The pork flavor was delish and the red chile adobo sauce had the perfect amount of spice; not overpowering. The corn tortillas were outstanding.
The Vibe
Tacodeli is a busy place, a bit loud and crowded, and usually with a line of people out the door. If you’d like a more quiet space, there is a nice outdoor seating area that’s furnished with many tables.
The Takeaway
Tacodeli serves fresh, delicious and mostly clean Tex Mex. Their prices are very reasonable which is an amazing value for the quality of food served. Discovering Tacodeli was such a pleasant surprise; they certainly walk the talk. I wish I had time to visit and review all 10 of their farm to taco establishments in Texas.
