What’s Clean
At Monica’s Restaurant, local sourcing of organically grown and raised ingredients is #1. The beef is pastured and 100% grass-fed, the chicken is organic, and the seafood is wild-caught. Most of the produce is local and either organically grown or certified organic. Just about everything is scratch-made. The bread is local and organic as well. Vegetarian and Gluten-Free options are available.
What’s Served
Monica’s Restaurant offers Gourmet Salads, Banh Mon Sandwiches or Salads, and amazing daily specials. The All American Cheeseburger made with 100% grass-fed beef makes the daily special list often.
What I Ordered
I ordered the Cobb Salad, and no kidding, hands down the best Cobb Salad I’ve ever had in my life. The moist and flavorful organic chicken pieces were tossed amidst fresh lettuces, delicate chunks of butternut squash, julienned cucumber, finely chopped toasted pecans, cornbread crumbles, cranberries, sliced avocado, tender morsels of bacon, and feta. Topped with a perfectly poached egg, a Sriracha drizzle, and a house-made Apple Vinaigrette dressing that was vibrant and complex with slurp-worthy goodness. I also ordered two of the daily specials; the Indonesian Chicken & Dumplings, and Dark Chocolate Cherry Bread Pudding for dessert. The Chicken & Dumplings were sinful, gourmet homemade comfort food is what comes to mind. With tender dumplings and a broth that was rich with bold flavors of chicken and spices, it was hard to put my spoon down. As far as the bread pudding goes, just wow! Topped with a scoop of creamy vanilla ice cream, drizzled caramel, and finely chopped nuts over a warm dark chocolate sauce…this cherry-infused moist and savory bread pudding was off the charts amazing.
The Vibe
Monica’s Restaurant is a friendly place where you’ll often find cheery Chef Monica visiting each table and conversing with patrons. The restaurant itself is located in an unassuming strip mall and decorated with simple furnishings and decor. The dining area is on the smaller side with table and booth seating available, indoors only.
The Takeaway
Monica’s Restaurant serves amazingly clean delectable dishes with an Asian twist and Southern flair. The ever-so-talented Chef Monica Cobb keeps her menu selections limited allowing for more attention to detail in creating her superb dishes; quality over quantity. I can’t say enough good things about this hidden gem in Beaumont, TX. It’s where the locals go for outstanding food and service and is EASILY one of the top 10 Clean Foodie picks in the Southeast.
