What’s Clean

Most of the produce is organically grown and locally sourced, often from their own garden located behind the restaurant. The beef and elk are 100% grass fed and the chicken is organic. Just about everything is scratch made in house with organic ingredients, including their organic baked desserts. Season’s Harvest Cafe even mills their own organic flours, daily. However, they do outsource a few of their bread choices. They offer gluten free, vegan, keto, paleo and raw options as well.

What’s Served

Breakfast and lunch are served Tuesday through Saturday, and dinner is served only on Friday from 6-9pm. In addition to the standard American breakfast fare including scratch made Biscuits and Pancakes, the menu offers Oats, Chia Pudding, Fresh Juices, Smoothies and a nice assortment of Teas. The lunch and dinner menus change often but a sampling of offerings include Soup, Salad, Elk Craft Burger, Legume Power Bowl, Falafel Wrap, and Rawvioli and Pesto with Avocado Massaged Kale which is a raw option. Also, Season’s Harvest Cafe is a BYOB restaurant.

What I Ordered

Dinner consisted of the Season’s Harvest Salad with Goat Cheese & Glazed Walnuts, Avocado as an add-on, as well as the house made Potato Soup with Fried Herbs. I enjoyed the salad, which was not only beautiful but yum. The house-made Pomegranate Balsamic Vinaigrette was the perfect mixture of sweet and tangy and if they sold bottles of that stuff, a case would have made the trip home with me. The Honey-Glazed Walnuts were also a standout, with a nice crunch and flavor that was not too sweet, as I often experience. Overall the salad was as fresh as could be and something I would definitely order again. The Potato Soup was on the thin side and I would have liked a bit more flavor, but I appreciated the freshness and authenticity. There was no doubt this soup was scratch made with fresh and quality ingredients.

My dinner experience was so good, I decided to stay in town an extra night, just so I could divulge in their outstanding breakfast fare. I ordered a Buttermilk Pancake, a Gluten Free Buckwheat Pancake, and a biscuit. All were scratch made with flour milled fresh that morning. The Buttermilk Pancake was absolutely outstanding, one of the best pancakes I’ve tasted. The subtle crunch from the brownish edges sent me over the edge, the taste left me begging for more and the thickness was perfect, in my book. The GF Buckwheat Pancake was not far behind in all categories and a definite standout. Let’s face it, outstanding GF pancakes are a rarity…but not at Season’s Harvest Cafe. After tasting the to die for pancakes, I was expecting more from the biscuit. It was tasty for sure, but a bit more dense than fluffy. The homemade strawberry jam rocked the house.

The Vibe

Set on many acres, the restaurant itself is a log cabin – a large one, with a lovely deck off the back which is built around a tree that juts up through the center. String lights adorn the inside and outside eating spaces adding a quaint touch to the already charming atmosphere. Live music was playing during dinner, which was soft enough to have a conversation without straining. In a nutshell, Season’s Harvest Cafe is welcoming, comfortable, and just about as homey as it could be. I truly felt like I was eating at the home of good friends.

The Takeaway

Season’s Harvest Cafe is a true farm to table restaurant and one of the top 3 hidden gems of my trip, which included over 100 clean restaurant stops. It is family owned and operated by wonderful people who believe we are meant to eat food in its purest form. They support their local community and are currently remodeling a building next to the restaurant that will act as a retail space for local farmers. Season’s Harvest Cafe is a must stop when anywhere near Cypress Texas.
