Everything served at Evergreen Organic Restaurant is clean, including the salt and pepper. All of the produce and ancillary ingredients are certified organic and some of the produce is sourced locally, depending on availability. The beef is 100% grass fed and the chicken is organic. The Salmon is wild caught and just about everything is scratch made in house. Many vegan and gluten free options are also available.
Evergreen Organic Restaurant serves lunch and dinner daily. The menu offers smoothies, pizza, sandwiches, burgers, salads, appetizers and a few main dishes such as oven-roasted Salmon and Lasagna. Menu selections include Avocado Hummus, Cheese Turkey Burger and Vegan Lasagna to name a few.
What I Ordered
I ordered the lasagna which was made with the following ingredients: 100% grass-fed beef, organic fresh tomato, organic mozzarella cheese, and organic bechamel sauce. Wow, what a nice surprise. The lasagna noodles were thin and tender which contributed to the overall light texture of an often heavy dish. I devoured the lasagna and I should mention that the photos do not do it justice. The combination and amount of each ingredient was spot on. As a result, the taste was not overpowered with tomato or too much cheese. Likewise, the bechamel sauce was light and fresh with the perfect amount of mild seasoning and worth making a trip back for. Yum, yum, yum.
The decor is clean and simple while the staff is more than pleasant, especially given my plethora of incessant and annoying questions.
Evergreen Organic Restaurant is the only 100% organic eatery in San Antonio. Above all, the food is tasty and clean with options for just about every diet choice. I’m pretty sure I will remember that Lasagna dish for a long time to come. Thank you Evergreen Organic Restaurant for doing things right and making it clean.
