What’s Clean
Local sourcing of ingredients is a priority at Tomgirl, and just about everything and every ingredient is either certified organic or organically grown. The juices are not cold-pressed in order to provide the most nutritional benefit possible. The nuts used in the nut milks are sprouted. Everything on the menu and in the cold case is scratch-made and raw.
What’s Served
Tomgirl serves hand made small batch amazing juices, nut milks, lemonades, and smoothies. In addition, it offers a few breakfast grabs such as yogurt, muffins, and overnight oats. Several fresh baked goods are offered, as well as Soups, Mason Jar Meals, Salads, Bowls, and Summer Rolls. Don’t forget the treats, such as Sunflower Butter Cookies, Raw Energy Bars, and Chocolate Avocado Pudding. Lastly, juice cleanses are offered as well.
What I Ordered
I have to credit Tomgirl for introducing me to Chocolate Avocado Mousse several years ago and I’ve been obsessed with it ever since. Not only was Tomgirl’s creamy and dreamy Avo Pudding the first I ever tasted, to this day, it’s still one of the best. The juices are amazing as well, always bold in flavor and full of fiber that cold-pressed juices are missing. One of my favorite treats happens to be the Peruvian Ginger Maple Lemonade – pungent, refreshing, and pleasantly sweet. The nut-milks are off the charts delish as well with a consistency very similar to cow’s milk, unlike many nut milks that taste watered down.
The Vibe
Tomgirl is a zen and cozy space with charming interior decor that speaks New England seaside cottage, with a ton of class; think Nantucket. You’ll hear fun pop music in the background with bar and table seating inside and table seating available outdoors as well.
The Takeaway
I’ve visited Tomgirl many times over the years and have never had a less than enjoyable experience. I do want to mention that the juices are a little on the pricey side at 12$ a pop, but so dang good. Always clean and superb, it’s a must-stop for me when anywhere near Burlington, and I’m looking forward to sampling a Mason Jar Meal next time.
